Jackie Mun-Gavin’s message was an encouraging word to help us continue to remain a committed and devoted part of God’s Church body. The basis of her message came from a quote that says “Haters are like crickets. They make a lot of noise. You can hear them but you can’t see them. But when you walk by them, they suddenly get quiet.”
The haters, critics, nay-sayers, and those voices that say there is no hope, can come in many forms, even in our own thoughts. These voices can make us want to quit or give up before we make it to the end of our victory. In Ezekiel, we read how angry God is about those who dishearten the righteous.
In Shakespeare’s version of Henry the 5th, the English were fighting against the French, and we are encouraged that despite the discouragement the English received, they won the war because they refused to give up, knowing that all those who had already died would have died in vain.
As a body or army of Christ, coming out of the pandemic and losing so many of our loved ones, we can relate to this story. Jackie reminded us that we are in a time of history where we are in a battle and where many will fall away from the body, having been given over to the enemy. The devil is fighting daily to keep every Christian in defeat of their victory, which is so often just around the corner.
We find encouragement in the Old Testament of how God opened Israel’s army’s eyes to see His army behind the enemies and how God closed the enemy’s eyes so they could be tricked and captured by Elisha.
3 things on How to Fight as the Righteous: –
- Align yourself wisely by making sure you are on the right team. Being under attack does not mean you are on the wrong side. Even when we’ve messed up, Jesus stands in the gap to defend our righteousness, but we need to acknowledge that we have allowed a breech in our wall of defence of righteousness. Humble yourself so God won’t have to humble you. Fall upon Jesus, so you will not be crushed. We read in Romans that who God has called, He has also justified and glorifies to be victorious. If God is for you, then nothing can be or stand against you.
- See rightly so you can see who is on your side to support and encourage you. Our reality is that we are in enemy territory, but our victory is around the corner. Learn to disregard the negativity around us, in social media or on the news that tries to discourage and defeat us. Open your eyes to see things from God’s perspective and listen to His words and promises spoken over your life, your health your finances and your business. Hold onto your hope to pull you forward to God’s future reality, irrespective of what you see around you. Humility looks like confidence when you are trusting in God.
- Deal kindly with everyone, especially with your enemies. When you know that they are defeated and hold no victory over you, you can have compassion to love them with kindness.
Take heart that you when you follow these 3 keys to God’s Kingdom, you can be encouraged with the hope that you are an overcomer and can endure victoriously through the tough times. When you focus on Jesus and stand on your righteousness, you can confidently allow Him to lead you to victory. Ask God today to bind up the things on earth that has come to discourage you.
