Gabe ignited our courage and gave our faith a leap in this new series called ‘Into the Wild’. There are two significant dates in our life; when we are born and the day we figure out why we were born. Knowing who we are, who we are, and what we were born for is what gives our life meaning. We are not a product of a mistake but with a plan and purpose, chosen by God.
In Acts 1:8 when the Church was born, we realize that the power from the Holy Spirit was a gift received for a purpose, not a reward or something we had to earn. We were born to be witnesses, to go public and show others why we were created. It is our calling to use God’s power to live life to the fullest!
YOU WERE BORN TO BE WILD
We aren’t living to be wild because we don’t want to offend anyone. We were not called to be a Church on the block, but in a city on a hill. Our mission is not to fill buildings but to fill people. We need to put transformation above information. Our Churches need to be set ablaze so we can burn with passion. Like a parent losing their child, we need to allow that fear to grip our hearts to see children lost. We need to go to all lengths to find them, reach them and save them.
In Ephesians 5 we are called to wake up and rise! This message was not written to pagans but to a sleeping Church. We all need to declare a sense of urgency to respond to the distress calls of this world. Like the Titanic, lives are being shipwrecked all around us. The architect of Heaven has called us to places we need to be for a people He wants us to impact. Our Church should not be idling in neutral, waiting to act when it is convenient, but to act NOW! We are God’s plan A to bring His children home. Knowing what to do is found in the manifold (multi-faceted) wisdom of God, as in Ephesians 3:10. The Good news of the Gospel is to reconcile others back to God. We have the power to change people’s eternity.
Stop living for the weekends or thinking only Sunday is a day for God. The Gospel is Monday’s game day. The measure of a Pastor’s success is how many people they are equipping and releasing into the Ministry. We are not just biding time until we die. We are secret agents working behind the scenes in our workplace to introduce people to Jesus. Each one of us carries a gift to reach the people in our city. We are all Pastors sent out into our communities.
Every encounter with people is a space where heaven can evade earth. In the marketplace of life, we need to be there and be available to use God’s power. Mathew 10 calls us to recalibrate our wandering, slumbering hearts. It is not about our agenda but to echo God’s cry to let His people go! On the other side of one man’s obedience is people wanting to be saved. We are the agents of God’s life-changing power when we step into His mission with faith.
God released us into the wild to be His witnesses, placed strategically to those He wants us to reach. Generations can change when we choose to say Yes! Let us stop being meek and mild representatives, expecting someone else to do the work. God has anointed us and equipped us to be used and is calling people home who have been running away. We have the power and the signposts to direct them back to the heart of God. We are God’s equipment to silence the voice of the enemy so God can welcome back His lost children home!
