Michael gave an encouraging word in honour of Father’s Day, reminding us, that no matter what kind of a relationship we had with our earthly Father, we have a perfect Father in Heaven! He challenged us on how
we see God, because how we see Him, will form the basis of how our relationship with Him will be. If we have a flawed view of God, we will have a flawed view of life.
We have a Heavenly Father who chose you, knows you and loves you and wants to be a part of your life, that He has planned for you. He wants to be a Father to us and is waiting for us to fully know Him so He
can speak into our lives to bring correction, healing and wholeness. When a Father speaks, we can know our identity as a son and daughter. God spoke to His son, Jesus Christ, over 2000 years ago and He is still speaking to us today, if we will just listen.
We looked at the powerful verse in Mathew 3:17 that when you fully take hold of it, can be life-changing. At the Baptism of Jesus, God introduced Him as His son and declared from the heavens that He was
loved and was well pleased with Him.
When we receive those words from our Father to ourselves, our lives can be transformed and we can live in the calling He has prepared for us, as His adopted sons and daughters. The words of our Father have
power to bring healing, freedom and joy!
When God spoke those words to Jesus, there had been 400 years of silence since He had spoken in the Old Testament. The Israelites had believed that God had forsaken them and was no longer speaking. But
God chose to the perfect time to speak, to affirm His son’s identity, before He had even performed a single miracle, which testifies that our Father loves us, not for what we do, but for who and whose we are.
God is always speaking and is always present, but as His children, can we identify His voice and are we listening to Him, or to the thousand other voices demanding our attention? Allow God to speak to you today as you listen to His voice and what He has to say to you, so your identity can be affirmed.
Through Jesus, we ALL have been adopted as sons and daughters into God’s Kingdom, giving us a new name and direct access to our perfect and good Father. This is not a gender issue, but an identity issue.
We were made in the image of our Father, and as image bearers, we should be reflecting Him, as we trust, rest and abide in Him. Our Father in Heaven is the perfect picture of our earthly Father and He is enough in every circumstance and for our pleasures and our pressures.
When we call ourselves a child of God, we declare Him as our Father and His heir. Stop living as an orphan, when you have a Father in Heaven who gives us access to all of the blessings of His inheritance!
Do you know the love of your Father? His love has the power to change you from the inside out and His love enables you to pour out His love to others.
GOD LOVES YOU AND IS PLEASED WITH YOU
When the voice of the enemy is shouting and calling you to attack your identity, but God declares louder, both publicly and privately that you are His. Nothing can take you out of the grip of the Father’s hand. God is not a tyrant, a dictator or a performance-based Father. He is a loving and perfect Father. The cost of God’s love was paid on the cross, so we could be reconciled to our Father.
God has placed His Spirit inside of us, so that we may know His as our Father and receive His power and authority to say yes to His calling and no to sin. When we know and experience the love of our Abba Father, we get to have a deep and personal relationship with Him to receive freedom, healing and wholeness.
God is perusing you and trying to get your attention so He can reveal Himself to you as your Father. All we need to do is respond and receive Him as our Father.
God is pleased with you and delights in you. You are the apple of His eye. Your pain and suffering are NOT because of God’s displeasure. Nothing you do or could ever do, will stop Him from loving you and
being your Father. He doesn’t see our flaws and our failings, but He sees His son Jesus, whose blood covers up our sins.
The love of our Father transforms us and defines our future, but we need to receive it first. Will you allow your Father to speak His love over you today?
In a world of so many single moms with children without an earthly Father present, it is time for Fathers and men to step up to their responsibility and start being a father. There are children in desperate need of a Father figure in their lives, to be a role model and to show them the love and goodness of God.
