We looked at the brutal pain of Friday, and the silence of Saturday, but we came together to victorious Resurrection Sunday, where all our unanswered questions, doubts and disbelief find answers and fulfilment. Mark encouraged us not to ignore those silent times between our prayers and them being answered; our diagnosis and our breakthroughs and our struggles and the solution. Those silent times are important, for it is when God does a work in our hearts. But silent times can also torment us with the lies of the enemy, unless we respond like Jesus, for when He died, He lay there still, stayed silent and continued to trust in His Father. Saturday may have been silent, but on Sunday, as we read together from Matthew 28, the cross at Calvary shouts out a victory that our King has risen, just as He said He would.
HE HAS RISEN AND IS ALIVE!
Easter is considered the Superbowl of the Church, yet many come without fully knowing the meaning behind what the cross is all about. Mark shared 3 powerful victory cries of what the resurrection declared on that Sunday when Jesus conquered death and paid the full price for our sins.
- NO MORE NAILS
Jesus forgave and died for ALL our sins, as we read in Colossians 2:13-15. Every sin was nailed to the cross and His blood was enough to pay the price in full. For every person walking around with a nail still keeping you stuck, today is the evidence of your victory that was won. You may be feeling the guilt and shame of your sin and afraid of your nails being exposed, but the blood of Jesus covers you completely, with the robe of His righteousness. Like doubting Thomas saw in the hands of Jesus, there are no more nails for which Jesus did not die for.
- NO MORE TOMBS
When Jesus died, the temple curtain was torn and the tombs opened, as we read in Matthew 27:50-53. The dead were risen, just like Jesus rose again to life. Mark shared the powerful testimony of how Gabe prayed for his wife Candice’s womb and a while later, after a medical diagnosis said it was hopeless, she fell pregnant, and now they have 3 boys! Just like Jesus rolled the stone away from Lazarus’s tomb, He can do the same to every dead thing in your life too! God is calling you out of your tombs of depression, recession and isolation today. We worship a God who can move the tomb away, where we get to praise Him with our stories of what He has done.
- NO MORE DEATH
God gave us the victory over death through His son Jesus, as we read in 1 Corinthians 15:53-58. For everything that has us in the grips of death, Jesus offers us the victory of new life, because He has risen and is alive. There is a changed life that happens when we believe and receive Christ’s death and the power of His resurrection. Where the stench of dead dreams, dead relationships and dead living is keeping us bound, Christ offers us the resurrection to the risen life with Him. The sting of death was defeated on the cross.
TODAY IS THE DAY OF YOUR VICTORY!
Today, Jesus says enough, because His death and blood was enough for you. Today is the day of your liberty and freedom. Whether you have nails of sin holding you down, or you are feeling stuck in a tomb, or living a life dead of Christ’s power, today is your day of victory! God offers you a spiritual crowbar to get unstuck and a supernatural power to bring you healing in every area of your life. The only limitation to our freedom is us. God is calling you to be freed from your nails, run out of your tombs and start living a life that is thriving with newness and alive with His power. The blood of Jesus and His grace still pours out for you today and His power is still available to remove every stain and to break every chain.
